100 Day Plan
This is what I will do in my first 100 days
Growing Membership
Reach out to fellow leadership candidates and the interim leader to explore how we can work together to:
- Ensure they continue to play a vital role in building the party's future success.
- Build on the strengths of our respective campaigns, broaden support beyond my own campaign base and unite the membership behind a shared vision for the party's future.
- Build on and help support delivery of fundraising and youth development programmes.
- Update and expand the membership skills database established in 2025, identifying the expertise, experience and interests that members can bring to the party.
- Write to every member, inviting them to play an active role in building the party, whether through community activities such as litter picking, organising local meetings, contributing to policy development, campaigning or delivering leaflets. Every contribution matters.
Growing Responsibility
Open up NCC:
- Publish dates and agenda of NCC meetings.
- Establish clear opportunities for members to contribute, encouraging them to raise questions, offer suggestions and communicate their views through their regional chair.
- Circulate minutes following NCC meetings, providing members with a clear record of discussions, decisions and agreed actions, subject to appropriate safeguards for genuinely confidential matters (openness will be the default, confidentiality the exception).
Strengthen the accountability of regional chairs, establishing a clear expectation that they will engage openly with members about NCC business, explain the positions they have taken and account for how they have exercised their votes.
Improve the responsiveness of party spokespeople and the quality, credibility and relevance of our policymaking:
- Work with the Head of Policy to review existing policies, ensuring they are firmly grounded in a renewed commitment to the national interest.
- Appoint a Head of Policy Research to establish research teams that monitor developments, identify trends and anticipate changing circumstances, test policy assumptions and coordinate work across key policy areas.
Priority areas:
- Public investment
- Welfare
- Citizenship
- AI
- Foreign Policy
- Defence
Growing Recognition
Establish a small campaign team to:
- Identify the defining policy issue with which the party should become most closely associated.
- Explore opportunities for local electoral and issue-based campaigning.
- Develop a strategy for the 2027 local elections and the next general election.
- Identify one priority parliamentary constituency in each region, potential candidates and winnable local wards.
- Begin manifesto preparations and consider our approach to other parties.
The team will produce an interim report by the end of the second month.
Growing Membership
Use the membership skills database and information from regional membership to:
- Develop specific regional strategies for increasing the party’s profile and recruiting new members.
- Match members’ skills and interests to national party needs.
- Responsibility for supporting the development of an active and effective regional party organisation.
- Ensuring that new members are adequately integrated into the party and given opportunities to get involved.
Create a new electronic welcome pack containing information about:
- The party locally and nationally.
- Information on getting involved.
- Opportunities to share information about skills and political interests.
Growing Responsibility
- Identify local resources, opportunities and priorities.
- Set realistic targets for regional activity and recruitment.
- Create opportunities for individual involvement in national party work.
- Integrate university recruitment with regional strategies where appropriate.
Growing Recognition
- Review recent fundraising work.
- Establish a team to work on larger individual donations.
